The Southwest Region Conference appreciates all of the support received through prayers, donations, and volunteer time. Although many of our members and pastors have been affected by Hurricane Harvey, we are grateful to God that no tragedies have been reported for our Conference. Many have called asking how to help. Below are ways in which you can assist. Please continue to pray for those affected, for the volunteers, our Conference leaders, and all those who will be assisting one way or another.
Sabbath Offering: A special offering will be collected in our Southwest Region Conference churches on Sabbath, September 2, 2017. Please mark your offering “Disaster Relief Fund.” Your treasurer will send the collected funds directly to the Conference office to be deposited in a special Harvey fund.
Online donations: A page is available on the Conference site were you can make your donation securely by following this link.
Mail Donations: If you prefer to mail your donation directly to the Conference, please make your check or money order payable/mailed to Southwest Region Conference | Attn: Harvey Relief Fund | P. O. Box 226289, Dallas, Texas 75222.
Adventist Community Services Coordinator for North Central Texas, Liz Duncan, is coordinating and scheduling volunteers for the following sites. To sign-up, please contact Liz Duncan at 469-987-5366.
Adventist Community Services Depot. Located at 702 N Old Betsy Rd, Keene, TX 76059. Volunteers needed Mondays to Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturdays, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help sort goods, unloading trucks and get items prepared to ship. Donations received are household cleaning items.
World Vision Warehouse. Located at 3325 Roy Orr Blvd. Suite 300, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050. Volunteers needed Mondays to Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist in keeping current business on track. This offsets the burden so they can properly respond to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The Teacher Resource Center is currently providing school supplies for teachers and students. The Essentials section is still serving partners who are serving locally. Both areas need product sorted and shelves stocked. Donations needed are hygiene items: soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, etc. World Vision is a community services partner of the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
